This reel is a journey through my diverse styles—from orchestral and hybrid scores to electronic dance and pop tunes; from animation and video game soundtracks to sci-fi film and indie short scores. It captures everything from grand, epic scenes to light, lively moments; from bitter and happy emotions to mysterious vibes; and from serious narratives to playful comedies. I hope this carefully curated collection helps you get to know me better ~

Biography

Qianyang Zeng is a composer, sound designer, music producer, and mixing engineer whose work spans animation, narrative film, and indie games. His recent scoring credits include Gacha! (selected for NYC’s MetroCAF 2024), the NY Short Fest-nominated live-action shorts Grinch and When Autumn Never Fell, and the animated film People Watching, an official selection of NYU Tisch’s 2025 New Visions & Voices Festival. He also scored In Full Heel, a short chosen for the 2025 MAMM Competition by the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF).

Together with close friends and collaborators, Qianyang is a founding member of Ritus Audio, a collaborative sound and music team specializing in game audio, where he contributes both composition and sound design across multiple in-development titles.

Qianyang began classical piano training at age six and later studied composition under renowned composer Xie Peng at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where he also worked as a mockup assistant and copyist. His creative background bridges music and technology, shaped by his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University (2023) and his Master’s degree in Screen Scoring from NYU Steinhardt (2025). He was named a finalist in the 2025 Oticons Faculty Competition.
