experience in composing, sound crafting, teaching, producing music and
sound effects
David Atanackovic was born on the 24th of May in 1996 in Belgrade, Serbia. He obtained his elementary music education in music school Davorin Jenko at the accordion department. His formal musical training continued at music high school Josip Slavenski learning the fundamentals of music theory. Later on, he pursued academical music training at the University of Arts (Faculty of Music) in Belgrade, more specifically in the Composition department in the class of Professor Svetlana Savic. After graduating from Bachelor studies in 2019, in addition to earning many national scholarships, he was awarded as the best student in Composition department in the class of 2018/19. The specialization continued in 2020 when he graduated from Master studies on the same department earning the title of Master composer. He has also participated in the project called 63 indices of the body in 2015. On this occasion, he composed three short pieces for above-mentioned French documentary directed by Pier Giorgio de Pinto. Furthermore, he has composed music for a short student’s film called Searching for the one and short animated movie called The Hat. He is involved in contemporary as well as applied composition, freelance work in arranging and orchestration. Although his work is based in primarily music composition and production, he performed actively as a drummer and pianist at the National library in Belgrade, Culture center Das Boot, Novi Sad city hall and many more. His enrollment also spreads on attending masterclasses with eminent proffesors such as Yinam Leef, Gregori Pozniak, Mantautas Kruskauskas, Marko Nikodijevic, Dragan Buvac and many more. He was a participant and music composer in multimedia project with other students from University of Arts called Penthouse. In March of 2020, he was accepted at one of the most prestigious music colleges in the world – Berklee College of music at the Music production, technology and innovation department. He has also finished a Master’s degree in music production on the Faculty of music in Belgrade and is currently studying for PhD in music composition. He obtained valuable experience in teaching music, more specifically as a music production professor teaching subjects such as audio, MIDI, sound design, contemporary and jazz harmony at Kosta Manojlovic music school in Belgrade. He is currently working and teaching at the Faculty of music in Belgrade at the composition and music production departments. In addition to teaching, he is also helping with studio recording and mixing compositions for numerous student composers as well as producing for diverse number of ensembles at the same University. In 2023, he also participated in some of the most prestigious radiophonic work contests representing Serbia and Radio Belgrade at Karl Sczuka prize in Baden-Baden and Grand Prix in Bari, Italy. He contributed with the promotion of contemporary classical guitar compositions with his producer role on an album called “Guitarization” by classical guitarist Marija Rašić. He worked as an assistant music, sound designer and arranger for a project within Bombshell theatre in Milwaukee for the well-known musical called Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. From the year of 2024, he started his collaboration with publishers, sound effects and music libraries that specialize in providing music and sound design for media (advertisements, TV series, films and video games) such as Howling Music Group (Nashville, USA), 2496 Sound and Music (Los Angeles, USA), Atom Music Audio (Sacramento, USA), Rareform Audio (Los Angeles, USA) and more. Through the program of SGA (Serbian Gaming Association) called ‘Playing Narratives’, he had been working with colleagues from the world of animation, modeling, programming, narrative design and creative writing to create video games. Through training and support from European and domestic experts, he had learned all about how the video games are made and built valuable industry connections working on sound design and music for games ‘Odes To Istros’ and ‘Microworld’. In addition, he has been working as the Sound Designer and Composer for Astrarium Games currently working on a mobile game called ‘Temple Of Infinite Idols’ and PC game called ‘Cinderveil Manor’.
