Biography

Andrea is a BAFTA Connect composer and orchestrator whose musical journey began at the University of Glasgow before she gained specialised Master's degrees in Composition and Orchestration for film, TV, and games. Her work showcases a sophisticated blend of classical training and modern sensibility, creating bespoke scores and dynamic arrangements for a wide range of productions.

This year has been marked by significant milestones, including her role in music preparation for the BBC Traitor’s Prom at the Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. A collaboration with Latin Grammy-nominated Spanish composer Vicente Alámo saw Andrea orchestrate two contemporary classical suites, which were not only recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios but also performed at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid. Her portfolio also includes contributions to the latest album, Rex, for the world-renowned cellist Jo Quail.

A deep passion for animation is central to Andrea's work. She is currently writing the songs and score for the US TV show Exploration Station and recently developed five original songs with Creative Scotland for an upcoming feature animation musical, Orla and the Stargrid. Other credits include orchestrating and conducting for animated shows like Dragons (BBC Wales) and Bad Jelly (ITV), as well as the feature film Stardog and TurboCat.

Andrea's film and TV credits are extensive. She recently scored the feature mockumentary Unfriendly Fire, and her earlier feature work—including Howl, The Devils Rock, and Catskin—has earned her multiple Best Score nominations at film festivals. As an orchestrator, her credits span feature films like All The Devil’s Men, documentaries such as The Silver Spitfire and HBO's The Elephant and the Termite, and TV series including Bad Jelly (ITV), Dragons (BBC Wales) and Robozuna (ITV).

Her versatility extends to gaming, where she has composed music for Chaos Created titles like Zombies Ate My City, Langeroo Adventures, and Bad Day for a Balloon Ride. Through her work with production music libraries such as Gothic Storm, her music has been featured in countless television shows worldwide, from Disney’s Baymax to Traitors UK, highlighting her broad industry footprint.
