

John Hunter is an award-winning composer known for emotionally driven, cinematic scores that transcend genre. A Berklee College of Music graduate in Film Scoring, he began his career composing for global brands including Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Ford, Dodge, and American Airlines before moving into film and television.
He is best known for scoring the Academy Award–winning animated short "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore", a dialogue-free film carried entirely by music, as well as Dolby’s Emmy-winning "Silent", created to showcase the immersive power of Dolby Atmos.
Today, Hunter composes across film, television, trailers, advertising, and immersive media, recognized for his versatility, orchestral storytelling, and ability to move seamlessly between epic, dramatic, and emotionally intimate worlds.
