Biography
Award-winning composer Lorenzo Barcella has written music for film, commercials, plays and stage. His honors include having won first prize at the Premio Vincenzoni Scoring Competition in Italy, and being selected as a finalist at the California Independent Film Festival (CAIFF) scoring competition. He was also nominated for Best Emerging Composer at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards 2023.
Most recently he composed the music for the feature-film Snot and Splash directed by award-winning Finnish director Teemu Nikki, which premiered at Locarno International Film Festival 2023.
As a Jazz musician, he has performed throughout Italy and beyond, at multiple festivals including JazzMi in Milan, Ascona Jazz in Switzerland and Festa dell’Opera in Brescia. He has earned multiple music degrees from the top conservatories in Italy with high honors (summa cum laude and magna cum laude), including in Jazz, Film scoring and Composition.
