Hannah Garton is a composer based in the North East of England. Classically trained, she now is moving into music for motion picture. Notable performances of her compositions are 'Goodbye' performed and recorded by Delta Saxophone Quartet, and 'Octans', a poem written by Amina Alyal and performed by Ioanna Koullepou and Stuart O'Hara. Hannah has also written music for a short-film 'Finding Gary' during her time at university.
Hannah's musical journey began when she was gifted piano lessons on her 13th birthday. After that, she grew in confidence until she began performing and composing regularly at university. Right from when she was 13, she was fascinated with Hans Zimmer, especially the score for Pirates of the Caribbean. This theme has shaped Hannah's journey and has been at the centre of every musical milestone, from performing piano for the first time at age 15, to a full orchestra playing her arrangement in her final project at university. Hans Zimmer's concert at Manchester arena in 2023 gave her the push she needed and since then she has been seeking opportunities and building her portfolio.
In addition to writing for motion picture and classical musicians, she also writes songs under the artist name Heidi Z. These span a variety of genres, from pop to rock, singer-songwriter to rap.
