Biography

Jolene Khor is an award-winning games and film composer, orchestrator, pianist, and conductor based in London, UK, known for whimsical, fantasy-driven music that blends Eastern and Western aesthetics, drawing inspiration from styles associated with Studio Ghibli. Her score for Kung Fu Scriptures won Best Music Composer at the Tokyo Film Awards in 2022, and she has composed for projects including High Rollers DnD, Nomnivores Games, the feature film Back and Forth, and numerous indie films, games, TTRPG podcasts, and audiobooks. Her work spans orchestral, chamber, and solo repertoire, with performances at venues such as the Royal College of Music and the Russian Embassy in London, and she has contributed orchestrations to major productions including Taiwan’s NSO Our Lives in Song. As a conductor and performer, she has led ensembles including the Queen Charlotte Orchestra at a Netflix promotional concert in Covent Garden and regularly collaborates with professional singers and musicians. Jolene is also a founding member of the Composers in a Jukebox podcast, where she interviews leading industry figures, and she holds degrees in composition from Fu Jen Catholic University and the Royal College of Music. Originally from Penang, Malaysia, she began piano at age three and has since recorded music at major studios including Angel Studios.
