Biography
Andy Hopkins is an award winning composer, producer and musician based in Los Angeles and London.
His recent work includes new music with The Crystal Method, Various Hamboulides' Mr Vertigo, the 80s tinged score for Netflix's Get Gotti (#1 in the USA and UK), BBC's Seven Days on Mars, the Emmy nominated Einstein and Hawking: Masters of Our Universe and writing with RnB star Kehlani.
Andy has also worked live and in the studio with acts including Groove Armada, Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, Perfect Circle), Crazy Girl, Dido, Oojami, Zero 7 and the Idjut Boys.
He embraces the eclectic. From playing guitar in the first UK performance of Duke Ellington's symphony, “Black Brown and Beige” at the Barbican, to creating an improvised zombie film score with Nick McCarthy of Franz Ferdinand, he thrives on taking music to different places. His willingness to push the boundaries keeps him in demand as a composer and a musician.
Andy's current collective, "Under The Wilderbeast" perform live completely improvised filmscores around Los Angeles using live instruments and looping pedals. Collaborators/co-conspirators include Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein) and Hannah Van Der Molen.
