Ethnomusicologist and Composer for Games/Media
I’m Austin Eamnarangkool — ethnomusicologist, composer, arranger, and guitarist based in Los Angeles. I’m shifting my career toward where it’s always pointed: video game music composition and implementation.
Right now, I’m shipping game audio projects with FMOD through game jams and indie teams, and I freelance for Cloud Road Music, a New Zealand-based producer collective that has delivered 2,000+ soundtracks to clients in over 70 countries. I’ve studied under composers and musicians including Peter McConnell, Lei Liang, Chinary Ung, Cecil Lytle, Kamau Kenyatta, and Anthony Davis. In college, I studied jazz in Paris, co-founded an a cappella group and took them to ICCAs, arranged 100+ works for ensembles across the country, and performed for audiences of 1,000+.
Outside of music, I’ve been a teacher, worked in PR and marketing, run corporate admin, and held every service job you can name. I adapt quickly, work well across teams and environments, and bring creative perspective to everything I take on.
Fun facts: I unironically enjoy long walks on the beach, spicy food (read: all food), photography, gaming, and making travel itineraries. I speak four languages at varying levels — English (native), Thai (conversational), Spanish (waning), and Korean (intermediate).
