Ariel Sha Glassman is a composer, arranger, guitarist and educator based in the Chicago area. She completed her Bachelor’s in Jazz Guitar at DePaul University in Chicago and her Master’s in Jazz Arranging at the University of North Texas. She is currently attending Columbia College of Chicago for a Master’s in Screen Scoring. She has been a recipient of the DCASE Individual Artist Project Grant in 2020 as well as receiving Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer’s Award in 2019 and 2021, as well as the Phoebe Jacobs Award in 2019. She was also the 2023 recipient of the ISJAC/USF Owen Prize. She was also a recipient of the First Music Commission Prize in 2024. She now studies at Columbia College of Chicago pursuing an MFA in Screen Scoring.
