Biography
Kaiyu Wang is a film composer studying at Berklee College of Music whose work emphasizes melodic clarity, experimental harmony, and rich textures. With roots in rock band performance, he brings an energetic edge to his dramatic writing, blending the raw power of live music with the emotional depth of film composition.
He has extensive experience scoring student shorts, feature films, documentaries, and podcasts, with projects receiving nominations from festivals including the USA Film Festival and the European Independent Film Festival. He maintains a strong command of the complete film scoring workflow, spanning composition, music editing, and score preparation. Alongside his professional work, he has consistently earned Dean’s List honors at Berklee College of Music. His musical versatility spans garage and shoe-gaze to full orchestral writing, reflecting both his diverse background and his curiosity for sound in all its forms.
Praised for his bold, imaginative composition and highly expressive orchestral mockups, Kaiyu is passionate about crafting scores that fuse creativity with storytelling, aiming to connect audiences through music that feels both innovative and acceptable.
