Biography

Khrys (they/them) is an aspiring trumpeter, composer, and arranger based in the New York Metropolitan Area. Most known for their works in the video game music scene – with bands like the J-MUSIC Ensemble, DiscoCactus, and Dom Palombi’s Game Night – they have composed, arranged, and performed works that have collectively amassed more than 12 million clicks across multiple platforms. Through all of these works, they’ve forged a creative voice that has its roots in jazz, but expands beyond any limits a single genre can offer.

Their love for music began at age 15 when they composed their first piece for big band — inspired by video games. They went on to study jazz composition under the GRAMMY Award-winning composer/arranger Jim McNeely at Manhattan School of Music. Since graduating in 2017, they’ve worked with prominent musicians and composers like Joe Iconis and the GRAMMY Award-winning Charlie Rosen. They’ve also played alongside musicians like Patrick Bartley, Carlos “insaneintherain” Eiene, Zac Zinger, and Adam Neely.

Khrys started their own big band project called Khrys Williams and the Red Line Arsenal and released their first album First Steps in 2022. With a diverse array of songs from anime, movies, J-Pop, and jazz deep cuts, the album marks the start of Khrys paving their way in the world of music — with hopes that it’ll one day lead to composing works for video games.
