Inspired by the music of Shostakovich and Mahler, this work explores the ups and downs of unrequited love.

This three-movement work, originally entitled An English Suite, was recorded by members of the Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Symphony. The work draws strongly on the works of Holst, Vaughn-Williams, and other brilliant composers of the U.K.

This work was conducted by leading choral conductor Grant Gershon and performed at Zipper Hall at the prestigious Colburn School in Los Angeles. A lament is defined as "a passionate expression of sorrow" and is often associated with the religious nature of grief. This work musically comments upon these turbulent thoughts.

This work features the composer at the piano and is a neo-classical work in three movements. This excerpt is from the second movement.
