Dimitri Scarlato is an awards winning composer working in films/tv, contemporary classi music, art installations and opera. Passionate about dramas and documentaries, he also scored animation series , psychological thrillers and biopics. His music is passionate, descriptive and emotional. He studied composition in Rome and London, and conducting in Rome and St. Petersburg.

As media composer he worked on feature films, animation series, documentary series and was Michael Caine's conducting coach on Youth, film by the Oscar winning director Paolo Sorrentino. His music has been performed at the Barbican Hall, Cadogan Hall and Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Manuel in Malta.

Recent commissions include scoring the BBC-Arte documentary series Pompeii: the New Dig, the sport documentary Generazione di fenomeni for the Italian broadcast RAI, composing a parish mass for the Orvieto Cathedral (Italy) and creating the music and sound for the art installation In Petri We Dish by Yarli Allison.
