Yi-Hsuan Liu

Composer & Orchestrator
Based in Los Angeles

Yi-Hsuan Liu is a Taiwanese composer, orchestrator, music editor, and music consultant whose work spans feature films, video games, and live concert productions. Drawing on her background as a violist, she blends orchestral writing with hybrid production, sound design, and electronic elements to create music that deepens narrative and emotional storytelling.

Her credits include The Naked Gun, HIM, Sound of Freedom, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, and the Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony World Tour. She is the recipient of the European Recording Orchestra Call for Scores Grand World Prize, and her original score for Chaotic Justice received the Best Original Score award at the Fox International Film Festival. She currently serves as Music Consultant for Gamania Digital Entertainment, leading music production and creative direction for commercial game titles.

Alongside her commercial work, Liu explores the intersection of orchestral music, electroacoustic techniques, and cinematic storytelling. Her projects range from public sound installations, including the Taichung MRT Soundscape Project, to large-scale international productions, reflecting her interest in how music shapes narrative, space, and audience experience. She is particularly passionate about collaborating with filmmakers to develop distinctive musical voices that are emotionally resonant, narratively driven, and deeply connected to the storytelling process.
