LA based composer, music producer, songwriter, and performing artist Angela Sheik creates orchestral pop hybrid, cinematic dark pop, indie/alt pop, and 1940s-influenced jazz pop (Hard to explain. Easier to watch: http://bit.ly/watchAngela). Her custom music can be heard in ad campaigns including match.com, Toyota, and ADIDAS, as well as a long list of film / TV spots. Highly collaborative, Sheik loves to work solo as well as with select creative teams. Influences include Sevdaliza, Labrinth (Euphoria score), Son Lux / Ryan Lott, Imogen Heap, Massive Attack, Bjork, and The Andrews Sisters.

Formerly a Philadelphia-area orchestra teacher, Sheik's training in education informs her efforts as composer as well as a community organizer. She is a classically trained flutist, pianist, and vocalist, and is a competent and experienced conductor, orchestrator, arranger, and copyist. As a local leader and connector, Angela is passionate about advocating for women and underrepresented groups in the music industry, plugging in aspiring music supervisors, and advising fellow artists interested in sync licensing. Recording Academy voting member and active committee member for the Production Music Association, the Guild of Music Supervisors, and the Association of Music Producers, Sheik is an experienced team leader, community builder, connector, event producer, and organizer. She is regularly requested to speak on and moderate industry panels. A riveting solo performer, Angela has a reputation for receiving standing ovations. She has toured throughout the US and Europe, and has opened for legends including Meshell N'Degeocello, Joseph Arthur, Julia Holter, Midge Ure (Ultravox), and The Neon Trees. Sheik has been featured and interviewed on NPR, PRI, and a variety of radio stations, podcasts, and news outlets.
