Biography

Jamir Hubbard is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with a deep passion for storytelling. He creates memorable music that pushes creative boundaries and elevates every narrative it touches. Known for his bold, dynamic, and emotionally resonant sound, Jamir fuses elements of jazz, classical, hip hop, and pop into a genre-defying style that is both transformative and deeply expressive—crafting a sound that truly captures and amplifies the moment.

In 2022, he scored the documentary Deeply Rooted: When A King Comes Home, a powerful short film exploring reentry and the opportunity to reduce future incarceration. The film was nominated for Best Themes at the 10-Minute Film Festival. Jamir’s score plays a crucial role in immersing the viewer in the protagonist’s journey. From the soft, lighthearted tone of the introduction to the escalating intensity that mirrors the young man's anticipation of freedom, each cue builds emotional depth. A reflective, slower piece in the third act grounds the audience in the film’s emotional core, while the final track—featuring empowering chants—symbolizes the support and solidarity of a newfound community, his "tribe."

Jamir’s musical journey began with the saxophone, where his rapid progress quickly outpaced his peers, who had more years of experience. His passion and talent continued to flourish as he immersed himself in music theory, refined his production techniques, and expanded his instrumental expertise to include Soprano & Alto Sax, the Trumpet, the Flute, and the Piano. He earned a degree in Music Business and studied composition at Albright College, further developing his voice as a composer and innovator.

Today, Jamir stands as a creative force—constantly evolving, experimenting, and reshaping the musical landscape with every project he touches.
