

Wong Cheow Cai (b.2001) is currently doing his undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Music (Honours)
programme, jointly offered by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore) and the Royal College of Music
(London), majoring in Composition.
Cheow Cai graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Music in 2022, majoring in
composition under the tutelage of renowned Dr. Zechariah Goh Toh Chai
Cheow Cai is currently a humble recipient of the Leong Yoon Pin Scholarship (Degree) for AY24/25. While pursuing his diploma, he was awarded the Dean's List Award in AY20/21 and AY21/22 Semester 1. He was also a recipient of the Tan Chin Tuan Merit Award for AY21/22
As a composer and arranger, Cheow Cai has had the privilege of having his arrangements performed overseas by musicians young and old from overseas such as America and Indonesia. In Singapore, Cheow Cai, along with his peers, was also given the opportunity to write for organisations such as ArtScience Museum and Siong Leng Musical Association. His saxophone quartet work, 'aura' has also been featured in the Composer's Society of Singapore's Score Follower Series. Cheow Cai’s 《秋千 A Thousand Nights in Autumn》was also awarded ‘Special Prize’ for the 2nd ISAC International Popular Music Composition Competition, organised by the Ise-Shima Art Committee in 2023. His work “paranoia” was recently workshopped by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in July 2024.
He has also taken great interest in sound design for theatre and has been involved in productions such as "女生“, directed by Jalyn Han, and "Lorong-Gotong-Royong", directed by fellow peers in the BA (Hon) Performance Making programme.
As an educator, Cheow Cai has freelanced with the Ministry of Education as a Band Instructor for both Primary and Secondary Schools since 2020. He also taught Music Theory privately.
