Biography

Los Angeles-based composer Markus Siegel, originally from Romania, has quickly established himself as a notable talent in the film music scene. Since moving to LA in 2022, he has been working alongside Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning composer John Powell. For the past three years, Markus has contributed additional music to many of Powell's recent high-profile projects, including Wicked (2024), That Christmas (2024), the upcoming How To Train Your Dragon (2025) and Wicked For Good (2025). 

He also collaborates closely with composer Batu Sener on projects like Harold and The Purple Crayon (2024) as well as Better Man (2024) and with BAFTA-nominated composer Anthony Willis, supporting him on projects such as Saltburn (2023) and M3GAN (2022). Siegel's foundation includes education at Leeds Conservatoire (UK) and Columbia College (Chicago), marking him as a rising composer with notable experience alongside some of Hollywood's leading musical voices.
