Biography

Jason Tse is a music producer, composer and guitarist based in Hong Kong.  His musical journey began when he first picked up his father’s nylon string guitar at the age of 12 and has since never looked back.

His music is a distillation of a diverse range of influences spanning electronic music to modern film scores to jazz to neoclassical.  Always having been drawn to music conveying deeper shades of emotions, it wasn't long before he found his way into the world of composing for film and TV.

Since working on his first short film in 2017, he has provided music for many films, documentaries, TV shows as well as advertising campaigns, many of which have been shown internationally in cinemas, film festivals and streaming platforms / channels like Netflix, National Geographic, MeWatch and ViuTV.  In 2018, he began an on-going collaboration with award winning composer, Yusuke Hatano.  Together, they have worked on films such as Knockout 我們永不言棄 (2020), Dynasty Warrior 真三國無雙 (2021), The Moon Thieves 盜月者 (2024), some of which had led to recording sessions with the Budapest Art Orchestra as well as members of The Hong Kong Philharmonic.

Since 2018, he has been a resident composer at Melodise Music Agency. Along with the team, he has composed original scores for Singaporean TV Shows such as Khloe (2020), Night Watchers (2021), Abracadabra (2022) and the season finale of After Dark: Season 2: "Mummy" (2022).

He has also provided music for projects in the adventure documentary film world such as The Longest Hole (2017), Everything In Between (2020) as well as the award winning Four Trails (2024).
