Biography

Angelo Vacca is an Italian musician and composer, with Master Degrees both in Jazz Guitar and in Film Music Composition.

His recent works include additional music for the documentary “Il Santo di Carne” by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo (produced by Paradise Pictures and London Movies Ltd.), whose soundtrack has been published by Ala Bianca Music Group and released on major streaming platforms. In 2025 he also co-wrote the soundtrack for the short film “Un Sole Bellissimo” by Gabriele Manzoni, produced by Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Italy, and highly praised at his first screening during the Festival Alice Nella Città in Rome in October 2025.

In 2026 he scored the short film “Solid Melody”, by Guillermo Yáñez.

Vacca is also active in jazz composition and arranging, music teaching and has different live projects in northern Italy.

His music has been described as uniquely inspired by various music genres, with a deep understanding of harmony, improvisation and non-conventional techniques, also implementing electronic and sound design textures.

He studied with world-renowned mentors, such as the composer Roberto Bonati, jazz guitarist Vincenzo Mingiardi and with international teachers at the prestigious Siena Jazz summer seminars in 2022. In the same year, he was a finalist at the international big band arranging competition Barga Jazz with an arrangement of “Green Wood” by John Surman, performed by the jazz legend himself. In 2025 he also won a Special Prize at the 5th Ise-Shima International Popular Music Composition Competition with the tune “April”.

In film music, he had the honor to study with the David di Donatello winner Marco Biscarini, Grammy winning artist Penka Kouneva and attended masterclasses of established film music professionals, such as Francesco Donadello, Stefano Mainetti, Diego Stocco, Giuliano Taviani and Lorenzo Tomio.

He is currently exploring new musical languages, also cultivating collaborations with theatre directors and contemporary musicians.
