TONY SCOTT-GREEN : Demos + Rejects

Something completely different this month - Have a listen to some works in progress and some music that was flat-out rejected :)

The great thing about rejected music is that it usually pops up on another project for which it's a perfect fit...

Piano Mangle
2:40
This looped and mangled piano is part of a work-in-progress for a live show. There's so much more but it'd be unlistenable here, so I spared you the hassle. You get the idea.
(NOT) Sam Spence
3:44
This was for a sports doc series. I had the 'great' idea of remixing and mangling legendary NFL films composer Sam Spence's music and then segueing that into my own. More as an 'example of the possible' and the creative process than anything else.
The Director did NOT care for it.
TV Show Intro - Guitar sketch
0:40
A guitar sketch of a an opening theme I pitched for a TV show. I love the feel of this and don't want to use it elsewhere, even though the show didn't happen when we thought. Still hoping it does...
TV show - Guitar sketch developed
2:08
And then here's my first cut at developing the guitar sketch...definitely a bit lumpy in places but I'll come back to it
The Red Zone (Piano Theme)
1:50
Piano theme I wrote for a short film that (again) I loved. Rejected...
Billiardino
2:48
This was written for the Straight 8 8mm film festival at the Cannes Film Festival. Filmmakers have to shoot their film using only an old 8mm camera and any edits/cuts must be done by starting/stopping the camera. Filmmakers send their undeveloped films to Cannes and only see them when they're screen before an audience.
This particular film 'Billiardino' was all about a very competitive foosball game, so I sampled the foosball table (and bar crowd) to create the initial beat.
Sadly, the film cartridge was damaged and exposed in shipping, so we never actually saw the film. I still love this music, though.
