Biography

Benjamin Louis Brody is a composer currently based in Los Angeles, California. His richly diverse musical background and distinctive sonic palette have fostered meaningful collaborations with musicians, filmmakers, and storytellers worldwide. AnEarful praised his work as "...consistently stunning compositions filled with innovation and adventure."  In addition to live concert settings his music has resonated across platforms such as HBO, SHOWTIME, Criterion Channel, BBC Radio3, and WNYC.

In 2025, he will begin a new commission using 4D Sound technology, supported by James Allister Sprang’s studio, which enables immersive spatialized audio experiences that redefine traditional concert listening experience. Known for embracing cutting-edge music technology, Brody previously released Floating Into Infinity (New Amsterdam Records), a collaboration with virtuoso drummer Ian Chang (Son Lux) utilizing Sensory Percussion. This work has inspired filmmakers and choreographers globally, most recently world-renowned choreographer Nicole Von Arx, with her production of THE FEAR PROJECT.

Behind the scenes, Brody is a highly sought-after orchestrator and collaborator. He served as the lead orchestrator for Hrishikesh Hirway’s (Song Exploder) score for Drew Hancock’s upcoming feature film, Companion (New Line Cinema, 2025), and in 2022, he orchestrated Anthony Barfield’s Heritage Concerto for Euphonium and Orchestra, performed by the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra. The televised performance earned two Northwest Emmy nominations. In the advertising world, Brody’s music was central to Alibaba’s first U.S. consumer campaign and has been featured in campaigns for brands like Ritas: Anheuser-Busch, Dropbox, NYTimes, and Women in Film (WIF).
