“He allows chaos and randomness into his process, and that makes his music truly special.”
— Hugo Keijzer, director, The Occupant
Renger Koning trained as a sculptor, and he still thinks like one: in material, texture and space. His scores blend acoustic instruments with electronic textures, and he knows when to leave room for the image. He is a two-time Buma Award winner (Bezness As Usual, 2017; De Panter, 2021).
He likes to come in early, at script or shooting stage, so that by the edit there’s already a palette of ideas ready to shape the film’s emotional arc.
