Biography

Radjha Ally, author, composer and performer born in

Muecate, Nampula province, northern Mozambique, releases today (October 17), on all national and international digital platforms, her first album entitled "Niinee", where mesmerizing rhythms and engaged lyrics intertwine. In this project, he explores human bonds, denounces injustices and questions war. In this year, which marks the 50th anniversary of Mozambique's independence, his work gains a special resonance, uniting memory, celebration and aspiration to unity.
The album's title, "Niinee", means "Come dance" in the Makua language. True to this invitation, Radjha provides a musical experience that is both dancing and exciting.
One of the most memorable moments of "Niinee" is the song "Maama", an emotional tribute to the role of the
mother in the education and training of children. In this track, Radjha makes a musical interplay with the acclaimed Malian singer Mamani Keïta, internationally known for having been a backing vocalist for Salif Keita. The presence of Mamani Keïta gives the album a pan-African dimension, reinforcing the union of voices and cultures of the continent.
Since childhood, Radjha Ally has been influenced by the sounds of his region and traditional dance. In the 2000s, he moved to Maputo to pursue his musical studies, where he currently resides. His career takes a leap forward in 2020, when he won the television contest Vozes Que Encantam, marking the beginning of his professional career with the formation of his own group. In 2022, their participation in the Indian Ocean Music Market (IOMMA), in Réunion, provided the first international experience, attracting the attention of the French label Accords Croisés, which holds he exclusive license for the album in Europe.

Musically, Radjha Ally navigates between Afro andAfro-jazz, with influences from Lokua Kanza, ZenaBacar (Eyuphuro), Hortêncio Langa and JimmyDludlu. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of northern Mozambique and pan-African icons such as Salif Keita and Youssou N'Dour, he creates a contemporary body of work deeply rooted in his origins.
The album "Niinee" is heavily inspired by Tufu, a traditional rhythm of Nampula, present in community festivals, weddings and religious ceremonies in coastal Muslim communities. With intense percussions, powerful female choirs, and pentatonic melodies, Tufu celebrates collectivity and transmits cultural values. Radjha Ally reinvents this ancestral rhythm, fusing it with contemporary arrangements, creating a rich, danceable and deeply African sound identity. The project is produced by the Mozambican publisher Khuzula Productions, with musical production by Paulo Chibanga (Tumi & The volume, 340ml, Bongeziwe Mabandla), musical direction by Fernando Morte, and technical production by Paulo Borges. The mixes were
performed by Fabien Girard (Arat Kilo, France). With "Niinee", Radjha Ally asserts herself as an essential figure of the new African music scene, uniting modernity, cultural identity and Mozambican roots.

With a background that combines formal musical training, traditional knowledge, and stage experience, Radjha Ally delivers powerful live performances rooted in rhythm, voice, and movement. His music bridges ancestral traditions and contemporary expression, positioning him as a strong voice within the African and international world music scene.
