Wenda Zonnefeld is a multiple award-winning composer, sound designer, and inventor with a family of issued patents in music synchronization for film and media. Her original scores and sound design have been featured in projects that have earned top honors, including the SIGGRAPH MetroCAF, Art Directors Club Gold Cube, Philadelphia Film Festival Gold in Animation, and recognition as a finalist in the Student Academy Awards. The Park City Film Music Festival even created a new Jazz category in her honor—awarding her the first-ever Gold Medal in that genre.
Wenda’s work bridges creativity with technical fluency, making her especially well-suited to animation and other projects requiring complex timing and rhythmic precision.
Her ability to calculate and shape musical events around animated motion is one of her signatures. She is also the inventor of a patented method for audibly seamless music synchronization and the founder of Extravagant Noise, a music library built on that technology.
She composes and records from her professionally designed sound studio, collaborating with filmmakers, animators, and producers to create bespoke scores and genre-blending pieces. Wenda performs on multiple instruments, has produced across a wide range of styles, and delights in crafting music that’s emotionally resonant and structurally sound.
Once called “The MacGyver of musical instruments,” Wenda has a history of rebuilding and rescuing instruments for professional musicians. Her knack for solving problems under pressure has earned her deep respect and even personal lessons from many grateful players—including half a dozen Grammy winners.
