Biography

Sam Hulick is a Chicago-based composer for film, television, and interactive media, recognized with a BAFTA Games Award nomination and an NBC News award. He's best known for co-creating the signature music for BioWare's blockbuster sci-fi MASS EFFECT trilogy, along with original music for Hazelight Studios' intense co-op prison break adventure game A WAY OUT, and the fantasy role-playing games BALDUR’S GATE Enhanced Editions and BALDUR’S GATE: SIEGE OF DRAGONSPEAR.

Hulick's scores are celebrated for their powerful emotional depth and memorable themes, spanning genres from expansive sci-fi and fantasy landscapes to orchestral drama, intimate piano pieces, and small string ensembles. His other notable credits include the PBS documentary feature JENS JENSEN: THE LIVING GREEN, which chronicles the life and work of the pioneering late 19th-century landscape architect; the sci-fi action short MECH, directed by acclaimed VFX artist Patrick Kalyn (Dune Part 2, Blade Runner 2049, District 9); and Google's Webby-nominated "100,000 Stars" interactive 3D space map.

In addition to his composition work, Hulick is co-founder and CEO of ReelCrafter, an award-winning online service that helps audio and video professionals—such as composers, sound designers, voice actors, and VFX artists—create stunning, personalized showcases.
