Cody Yipeng Rong is a composer and electronic musician from Shanghai, currently based in New York. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon’s Electronic Music program, he is fluent in both orchestral and electronic composition, blending tradition and innovation to create immersive worlds. Cody has scored more than 20 short films with directors from USC, NYU, CMU, BU, including (To No Avail) , which won Best Student Short at the LA Indie Short Fest in 2025. He has also scored multiple indie games — one of which (Rainy Day) has 500,000 players and 1000+ reviews on Steam with an overall review of “Very Positive”. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including being the winner and finalist in Indie Film Music Contest in 2022 and 2023. Cody approaches film scoring with a focus on crafting sonic moments that resonate long after the screen fades. He is passionate about working closely with filmmakers to push stories beyond their limits.
