My grandfather was a saxophone playing school principal and yes, he smoked two packs of cigarettes a day. When I look at this photo I can hear the sound, and I can smell the smell. I remember it all  fondly. It was wonderful to have that sound in my ears so often. I love music, sounds and sounds all around.  My grandmother sang children's songs and hymns, as well as some children's songs she made up.  There was singing at home and listening to records. I’m so grateful that my family connects through music.
