Biography
Hongyu Zhu started Her music journey by learning violin and vocal performance at a young age. At the age of 14 she discovered pop and electronic music and quickly extended her learning to synthesizers, guitar. Her passion for music has led her to record herself and creat her own music since a very young age.
Her passion for music urged her to work hard on her music path. By majoring in Composition and Theories of Composition with Electronic Music at the Communication University of China, she immersed herself in a systematic, all-encompassing knowledge of film scoring, composition, sound design, instruments, etc. During her time in university, she composed music for several short films. Her creative process was based on collaboration with the filmmakers. Films reflect the directors' outlook on life, and She’s thrilled to enhance their presence on screen with her music.
In 2021, her song “Our Song” made it to the top 2 of QQ Music's original music chart, and in the same year, she was awarded the Tencent Campus Musician Third Class Scholarship. 2024, she received scholarships and offers from NYU，CCC,Berklee College of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and other schools specializing in scoring for film and television , and is now pursuing a master degree in screen scoring at NYU.
