Hailing from Chicago, ‘home of the blues’. Great jazz, blues and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra gave Tim Barton an immersion in beautiful live music. Tim combines these influences in his compositions for multimedia, with a focus on piano and orchestra. He is a true collaborator and uses “a voice through the piano” with melody, style and the creative process to elevate his many projects. Barton’s music can be found on a myriad of shows, including Call Me Kat (Fox), Younger and The Originals (the CW), Bored to Death on CSI, and various other programs on the BBC and HBO.

Tim's background is quite unique for a composer. Coursework for a Doctorate in Pedagogy from Northwestern completed 8 yrs with Nuns, 6 yrs of Jesuit training, 5 yrs of Evangelical truth and light at North Park Univ (Chicago) alongside a tough young life on the streets of Chicago. He was an instructor at both Northwestern and North Park. A member of ASCAP, the Society of Composers and Lyricists and the winner of the 2025 “World Championship Old Time Piano Playing Contest” in Oxford, Mississippi. Tim performs Fringe Festivals around the world, combining concert repertoire, jazz, blues and ragtime in his outstanding solo piano program “Rhapsody in Chicago Blues”.
