Biography

Dave LaGrande is a composer, music producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans film, television, animation, educational media, and live performance. From 2006 to 2020, he was based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he built a thriving career as both a studio musician and touring artist. For 12 years, Dave was the keyboardist and saxophonist for the platinum-selling band Sister Hazel, performing across the U.S. and internationally.

Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with artists such as Grammy-winning vocalist John Berry, Shaun Murphy (Little Feat, Bob Seger, Eric Clapton) ACM-nominated Heidi Newfield, Tiffany, Jelly Roll, and others. His performances include appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig FergusonThe Today ShowThe Grand Ole OpryABC’s Nashville, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and countless national and international venues—including Sister Hazel’s annual Rock Boat Cruise.

In 2020, Dave returned to southwest Florida to be closer to family. In 2023, he stepped away from full-time touring to focus on composing, arranging, and producing from his home studio—while embracing new parenthood and a more grounded creative life.

As a composer, LaGrande recently scored the independent feature film The Legend of Lake Hollow (2024). In early 2025, he completed production on a major music content project for educational publisher Zaner-Bloser, creating songs and audio assets for a new reading curriculum set to launch in 2026. His work in children’s media includes original themes for Car City’s Tom the Inventor Truck and Robofuse, along with sync placements on Comedy Central, WWE programming, and a variety of other networks.

In addition to composing, LaGrande is an accomplished arranger and orchestrator, with a portfolio that includes commercial music, educational material, and commissioned works for live performance. His recent collaborations with the Danscompany of Gainesville include both original compositions and custom arrangements commissioned and licensed specifically for live dance productions. These works debuted at the University of Florida’s Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, showcasing LaGrande’s ability to craft music that enhances and complements choreographic storytelling.

Now based in Florida, LaGrande continues to write, arrange, and produce from his home studio, collaborating with artists, educators, and media producers across a wide range of genres and formats.
