My name is Acheron Chen, and I am a composer for films, video games, and all forms of visual media.
I specialize in contemporary orchestral writing and have extensive experience composing for live orchestra, with over 15 professional orchestra recording sessions to date. My music often explores intimate, atmospheric, and dramatic sound worlds, alongside large-scale epic, fantastical, and adventurous scores.
A key element of my compositional voice is experimentation. I frequently work with aleatoric techniques and unconventional textures, blending them with traditional orchestral language to create emotionally charged and distinctive sonic landscapes. I also enjoy combining orchestral, electronic, and ethnic elements, allowing each project’s narrative to shape the musical approach.
During my studies at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe, I studied under several accomplished figures in the industry, including Andy Hill (former Vice President of Music Production at Walt Disney Pictures), Jack Wall (Call of Duty: Black Ops), Alastair King (orchestrator for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Doctor Who, and more), and Seiji Hotta (Honor of Kings).
