Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sean-Paul began his musical journey from an early age, playing upright bass in school. Or, more accurately, fell asleep playing The Chronicles of Narnia on his Gameboy, and woke up with an immense desire to begin learning the soundtrack on his instrument. That immense desire quickly grew into a burning passion for playing, performing, and creating, and soon he began composing small retro video game soundtracks for fun.
Although he holds a Master’s in Film Composition from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, Sean-Paul still spends much of his time with the upright bass—performing in studio recording sessions, musical theatre pits, orchestras, and jazz ensembles. As a composer, his work spans a variety of genres, styles, and characters, and can be heard in numerous short films and indie video game projects. He currently serves as Tesoro High School’s Marching Show Composer while balancing a jazz residency with Vroman’s 1894, an assistantship with composer Nathan Wang, and music directing at Lucky’s Butler Lounge—the premier Butler experience in Southern California.
