Midnight Gaucho is the musical persona of Argentine singer-songwriter Fede Petro, blending the raw edge of Americana with the spirit of South American folk.
He began his journey busking on the streets of San Francisco before settling in Los Angeles, where his songs now reflect a life lived between countries, languages, and identities. His lyrics are steeped in solitude, resilience, and the strange poetry of survival.
Petro is also the founder of Open Folk, a grassroots movement connecting songwriters across the U.S., Argentina, and Spain through intimate, no-lineup shows that prioritize community over hype.
As a producer, his fingerprints can be found on records by Audrey II, Estela Stier, Agustin Donati, and Gal Musette—artists who, like Petro, walk the line between delicacy and grit. Midnight Gaucho’s upcoming EP, The Good, The Bad and Me, begins with the single Last Breath, a stark, intimate release that sets the tone for what’s to come.
