A psychological exploration of a woman's battle with inherited trauma and the relentless search for self-worth. Pulled into a surreal journey where reality and illusion intertwine, she is confronted with haunting symbols of her deepest fears and desires. As she navigates this unsettling path, the boundaries of her identity begin to unravel, forcing her to face truths she never anticipated.
This film is about a personal, psychological journey, has minimal dialogue/voiceover, and remains open to interpretation – and so the score played a key role in the storytelling.
I worked closely with the filmmaker to create a score that matched her vision for the emotional contours of the film, and blurred the line between score and sound design – while also integrating with critical, narrative sound effects.
In this opening sequence, the main character has woken up – or maybe is still inside a nightmare? – slowly gets her bearings, and eventually finds a glimmer of hope.
