Biography
Olai Førsund is a Norwegian composer and musician based in Oslo. He received his first guitar at the age of 10, and from that moment, music became his true passion. Growing up in the west-coast village of Vevring, Olai often draws inspiration from Norway’s breathtaking natural landscapes in his creative work.
He holds a master’s degree in musicology from the University of Oslo, specializing in composition, music production, and music theory. This academic foundation has profoundly shaped his approach to both traditional and modern music.
Over the past decade, Olai has established himself as a versatile freelance composer, arranger, and musician. His works span a wide array of ensembles, including symphony orchestras, string quartets, big bands, choirs, and electronic music projects.
In 2023–2024, Olai pursued advanced studies in film music composition at Høgskolen i Innlandet, further broadening his artistic perspective. Since then, he has been composing music for film and television, blending his musical expertise with cinematic storytelling.
Olai is also the co-founder of Mobula Music, a music studio dedicated to high-quality recording and production, with a particular focus on film music. The studio is set to open in April 2025.
