Diederik is a Dutch composer, sound designer, and music producer with a background in commercials, documentaries, and fashion. For more than two decades, he has created music and sound for visual stories, working with international brands including Nike, Coca-Cola, Kenzo, Campari, and Triodos Bank. His work is driven by a fascination with rhythm, space, texture and atmosphere—and by the search for the small musical or sonic detail that can completely change the feeling of an image. His approach comes from an early life in music and DJ culture, where instinct, timing and listening were everything. Over the years, this has developed into a practice that moves freely between composition and sound design, combining musicality with a strong sensitivity to image, editing and narrative.
Alongside his commercial work, Diederik composed for the documentaries The Hold Down, following a big-wave surfer confronting the power of the ocean, and Echte Mannen Huilen Niet, exploring masculinity, vulnerability and what it means to be a man. In fashion, he worked with Viktor & Rolf for more than a decade, composing the original scores for their theatrical runway shows in Paris and creating sound worlds that became an integral part of their shows. His work has received international recognition, including awards from ADCN, Clio, Effie, and the Andy Awards.
