Biography/传

Haoyu (Harry) Chen is a versatile composer and conductor from Sichuan, China, specializing in creating storytelling music for films, animations, and multimedia projects. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Science from Zhejiang University in 2023 and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California.

Haoyu is passionate about blending Western classical music with modern production techniques to craft emotionally powerful soundscapes. A classically trained pianist and erhu performer since childhood, he has performed for many years in Chinese orchestras and has arranged and orchestrated numerous works for traditional ensembles. These experiences have given him a deep understanding of Chinese instrumental writing and orchestration.

He is currently collaborating with several film and game directors on new projects. In addition, he has composed promotional music for projects including Beijing Universal Studios and Mumianhua Hotel. Alongside his creative work, he continues to build his career as a music educator, with over 5,000 hours of teaching experience in piano, erhu, and music theory.
