Rose Mackenzie-Peterson is a music editor, emerging screen composer and pop producer from Sydney, Australia. After graduating with a Bachelor of Sound and Music Design from UTS, Rose initially went on to work as a film score recordist and music editor, working on scores by composers including Dominic Lewis (Peter Rabbit), Benjamin Walfisch (Mortal Kombat), Lorne Balfe (Lego Batman), Mark Mothersbaugh (Lego Ninjago), Nigel Westlake (Ali’s Wedding), Marco Beltrami (The Shallows) & Michael Lira (Nekrotonik) .
In 2022 she pivoted to focus more on composition for screen, assisting composers including Michael Yezerski, Elliot Wheeler, Piers Burbrook de Vere and Angela Little, and earning additional composer credits for a children’s TV series and a feature. Rose was one of two recipients of the AGSC’s Credit Maker program in 2023, placing her as an additional composer on the Stan series Wolf Like Me. Her most recent credits include Additional composition for Strife (Foxtel/Binge Series), Addition (Feature), and assistant music editor for Furiosa: a Mad Max Saga.
Under her solo synth-pop project, VRDA, Rose fuses her background as a classical violinist and her love for rich synth and vocal harmonies to create a symphony of layered sounds that will both pull at your heartstrings and get your head bobbing.
