Biography

I'm Fabio Gotti and 'HydraTek' is the name that summarizes my artistic vision:

'Hydra' recalls the mythology and a dark fantasy-inspired world, present in the music I craft in the form of a deep, dark cinematic influence, looking for special soundscapes that aim to provide a context to narrate a story, and it's epitomized by an aggressive, distinctive sound that’s become my signature in both my sound design projects and electronic music productions;

'Tek' is about my continuous research and love for sound design, high-tech, and futuristic-inspired sonic explorations mainly influenced by heavy underground bass music, trying to push electronic music forward to explore new frontiers.

Overall my aesthetic is about those two worlds combined to create what I like to call Cinematic Bass Music, spanning different subgenres in the electronic music scene. With a strong influence and passion for modern film soundtracks, I strive to provide a concept and storytelling inside my music, even inside club-oriented tracks. The different 'heads' of the hydra are a metaphor for my eclecticism. The two polarities in my name can sometimes be found in a harsh contrast between delicate, emotive melodies and twisted, abrasive basslines.

I've been producing electronic music for over a decade and I graduated in Sound Engineering at the Conservatory of Milan with 110/110 with a Thesis on Synth-Bass Sound Design.

I completed the Master's Degree in Sound Engineering & Multimedia at the Conservatory Of Cuneo with full marks too (110/110) and a Thesis project about developing a Sci-Fi Horror Kontakt library named Deimos.

At the moment I'm a Freelance Sound Designer and Audio Engineer doing a variety of projects including sound editing and post-production for short films, crafting my sound packs and under commission for other companies for a variety of synthesizers, producing and post-producing both my music and other artists' tracks, creating educational content for music tech blogs, teaching private lessons about electronic music production and audio engineering, beta-testing audio products, collaborating with media composers and other sound designers, performing as a DJ/Producer, and more.
