Kevin Yu is a composer, orchestrator, and mixing engineer currently based in New York City. He strives to present the most daring musical and acoustic imagination through his compositions. His concert compositions are performed internationally by soloists and ensembles. In 2021, he was commissioned by Iris Orchestra to compose Like A River Flows, a 12-minute string trio to be included in the ensemble's repertoire.

While he considers himself a storyteller, Kevin actively engages in collaborations with filmmakers since 2020. While he specializes in hybrid scores for thriller and drama, his works span multiple genres including film noir, rom-com, animation, documentary, etc. In his free time, he is also a passionate photographer and filmmaker who co-founded Kash Productions and directed multiple short films.

Deeply interested in electronic music-making, Kevin is active on Spotify, SoundCloud, and NetEase Music (@THE KEV) since 2016. He is currently mixing a new album by songwriter Dodge Wang, which will be released in 2025.

In 2024, Kevin received B.M.A. in Music Composition with a minor in Cinema & Media Arts from Vanderbilt University.

He is currently enrolled in the M.M. Screen Scoring program at New York University, and expects to graduate in 2026.
